Start Anytime
No fixed dates or courses - Start Anytime and attend on the days that suit you! Our Bachata dance classes run weekly every Tuesday and Thursday.
Pay As You Go
No need to pay up front for blocks of classes. Just want a taster first? Prefer to pay for each evening as and when? No problem. Just book in for any evening anytime before attending.
No need to bring a partner
It's fine to come on your own! Lots do, and you'll make friends of all ages on your first night. We partner people up and rotate partners (for those that want to, most do!). You get to meet everyone. A great icebreaker for socialising and dancing later on!
Social & Dance Time with Bar between and after Classes
We don't use halls/gyms or studios. They can be so uninviting, and lack any social/dance opportunity. We use Pubs and Clubs with amazing function rooms, bars and seating. After class you can mingle and have a drink, socialise, dance and practice what you have learned with your new class mates till late!
All Levels & Styles in One Night - No Extra Cost!
You could take up to 3 dance classes in different levels and styles eg Salsa & Bachata from complete Beginner to Advanced - all in one night, in one place, at one price. No having to pay more for extra classes in the same eve or come on another day to pay for another style or level.

Who we are
About Shahid/Salsa Buena
Shahid is the founder, director, and main teacher of Salsa Buena and most of its dance classes. He began his dance journey in 2001 whilst living in London when persuaded to attend a local Salsa class and has since not looked back! Living in London he was fortunate enough to count some of the worlds best teachers and performers as his mentors, Super Mario, Susanna Montero, Marchant Birch, Leon Rose, Tamambo, Larisa Balogh, as well as travelling to international congresses around the world from Spain to USA learning from all the worlds best teachers . “I was so lucky to have these guys as my teachers, learning from the best of the best!”. After returning to his home town of Cardiff in 2006, Shahid found that his skills were much in demand and Salsa Buena was eventually born!

Don’t worry if you think you have two left feet. At Salsa Buena, we believe that anyone can learn to dance, and we make it our mission to make the learning process fun and enjoyable. We will take the pressure off of you so that you can focus on having fun and learning at your own pace. You’ll be surprised at how quickly you pick up the basics!
- Have a positive attitude. Learning salsa is a challenging but rewarding process. If you approach it with a positive attitude, you will be more likely to stick with it and make progress.
- Attend classes regularly. The more you practice, the better you will become. Aim to attend classes at least once a week, and more if possible.
- Practice between classes. There are many ways to practice salsa at home, such as watching videos, listening to music, and practicing the steps in front of a mirror.
- Don’t be afraid to make mistakes. Everyone makes mistakes when they are learning something new. Don’t let this discourage you. Just keep practicing and you will eventually get the hang of it.
- Focus on the enjoyment factor. Salsa is a fun dance, so make sure you are enjoying yourself. If you are not having fun, you are less likely to stick with it.
